The Elite provides all the comfort and quality of a Honda in an affordable around-town runabout that anybody can enjoy. I have a 2006 Honda 80cc Elite that I am trading in for the new Honda 110 fuel injected model. I had experienced the can't get started, stalling, cold starts that these models exhibited. I had it back to the dealer three or four times but the problem persisted; they swapped out the carb, choke, etc.

There are two solutions I used to overcome the starting problem; the first one electronic and unnecessarily complex, and the second a simple electrical one. The second solution is practical, simple to implement, and costs only a couple of bucks. Is it legal? I don't know, but it works. After doing the modification I could start the engine at subfreezing temperatures with no problem even after a week or two between rides. These scooters have small batteries so I keep a battery charger installed during cold weather; the alternator only provides maintenance charging. If you are interested in this solution to the starting problem let me know. My email is: hmagusa@yahoo.com.

I've had a 2010 Honda Elite for a few months and it is a great bike. The new EFI has had no problems starting in cold weather. I ride as long as it's 35 degrees or above and no snow and it has started right up every time. It does require warming up for few minutes before you take off but other than that it is flawless. Don't let the low 108cc fool you. I previously had an 09 Vino 125 that I traded in and this bike will keep up with the Yamaha easily. It also has a larger front tire, passenger foot pegs and doesn't bog down with passengers.

It did cost a few hundred more than the Vino but the advantages are worth it. I do agree that all scooters are overpriced. The Maxi ones are insane, you could buy a decent used car for the price of a Silver Wing or TMAX.

Have a 1996 Elite with less than 1,400 miles; carburator isuues also. Went from trying numerous times to get it going, to allways on high idle. No happy medium. Hopefully EFI solved this problem.

With carbureted scooters being so finicky, I was hoping to one day see an EFI scooter. Hopefully it will be a little more forgiving when it comes to non-daily use. My 09 Metropolitan is an awesome scooter, with a plesantly surprising 45mph top speed. However, I must run it everday if I want it to stay peppy and ready to go. If it sits for longer than 3 to 5 days, it becomes hard to start and runs very sluggish for several miles before finally smoothing out.

In the NC foothills, we can get rain for weeks at a time. Honda carburetors, although better built, remain just as cold-natured as the Chinese clones. I'm hoping EFI will help allieviate that idiosyncrosy all scooters seem to suffer from.

The 2010 Honda Elite 110 (108 cc) has an MSRPof $2,999 according to powersports.honda.com. That means well over a 3K expenditure out the dealer's door for 108 ccs. Like the Honda SH150i, priced at a whopping $4,499 the 2010 Elite 110 represents more of the same "How in the heck did they arrive at that number?" pricing strategy. Apparently, Honda thinks America is not involved in a financial crisis, where more and more people are turning to scooters as an alternative way to save money. Folks are spending less money these days, not more! There are a lot of noteworthy, high-quality scooters out there available for notably less dollars (see list below) in which the Honda Elite expects to compete. I love Honda, but enough with the overpricing already.

Comparatively (125cc even), but for notably less...
Genuine Buddy 125, MSRP $2,699
SYM Fiddle II 125, MSRP $2,598
Yamaha Vino 125, MSRP $2,899

I hope this new Honda Elite is better than the old one. I have the 2007 80cc Elite and it's so cold natured I can't get it started in the spring. (I have a heated garage.) Last spring the dealer had to come out and take it to the shop. This spring is no different. It still won't start.

If this little scooter is not started every two or three days during the summer it takes 15 to 20 minutes of trying to get it started. Once it is started it will die many times and even while riding, it will die at every stop sign until it has warmed up. I wish I would have read reviews on this little scooter.

I owned a Silver Wing for several years and am glad to see a scooter of this size come out. Now that I have moved to a large cruiser, I'd still like a scooter to get to work, etc. The 50cc weren't big enough and the 250cc and above is bigger than I wanted just for around town. I know they sell a lot of 125 and 150cc in Europe so it's about time it gets around here.

Looks like a good design. Honda quality. Glad to see more designs coming out.
